Background:Born in Memphis, Tennessee and raise in Georgia. Started his career in the US Navy the moved onto the Coca-Cola Company. Afterward, Cain joined Pillsbury and became a VP there finishing as President of Godfather’s Pizza. He was also CEO of the National Restaurant Association and served as chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.
Abortion:Cain opposes the legality of abortion, even in the cases of rape and incest.
Budget/Spending:Cain believes that federal government spending is out of control. He thinks we must place all program and entitlements on the table for modernization or elimination. He says leaders should be willing to shrink budgets.
Economy/Jobs:Cain thinks that the federal government should encourage economic growth by ensuring conditions that will allow businesses to thrive, not just survive.
Energy:Cain says that American is a land blessed with abundant natural resources and the capacity for people to obtain them. He thinks America should end subsidies that pick choose winners so private industry can take the lead for true innovation.
Foreign Policy:Cain understands that the primary duty of the President of the United States is to protect its people. He says we must stand by our friends and not be fooled by our enemies. He also stresses strong support for our military.
Guns:Cain supports the 2nd Amendment but also says it should be state’s decision to regulate or not.
Health Care:Cain calls Obamacare “health care ‘deform,’” and stands for its repeal. He pushes for legal reform like loser pay and advocates for more use of Health Savings Accounts.
Immigration:Cain thinks that illegal immigration exacerbates illegal activities and puts a tremendous strain on America’s entitlement and health care systems. He says we must protect our borders, enforce our laws and promote the existing path to citizenship.
Social Security:Cain states that existing social programs are compromising the current and future financial stability of our country. He thinks we should admit our mistakes and get the federal government out of the way offering a helping hand instead of a handout.
Taxes:Cain believes meaningful tax reform should be implemented immediately and offers a 9% corporate tax, 9% income tax and 9% sales tax plan followed by education of and then implementation of the Fair Tax.
